Candy Flowers
Inspired by many trips to Blackpool Rock stores in the UK during my youth. Long bold strips of bright coloured boiled sugar, rolled and cut candy. Jars and jars of boiled lollies, rolls and rolls of long sticks of rock knowns as Blackpool Rock. Every child's dream to press their face against the window and watch the skilful hands stirring, rolling, folding over and over again to make the Blackpool Rocks; not to forget the tug on Mum or Dad's arm into the store as their eyes widen with excitement choosing their brightly coloured candy. This is a craft that has been passed on from generation to generation.
